Capcom recently confirmed that the special edition of "DmC: Devil May Cry 4" will be released some time this summer.

The remastered game will be available as a digital download and will support the following consoles: PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. The original "Devil May Cry 4" was actually the first title for PlayStation 3 from Capcom.

"This year Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition will make its way to PlayStation 4 with new modes, gameplay and visual improvements, and the largest roster of playable characters in any Devil May Cry game to date," Hideaki Itsuno of Capcom wrote on PlayStation's blog.

The special edition of the game will have improved graphics compared to when it was initially released last Jan. 2008. It will run in 1080p at 60 frames per second. The game will feature plenty of new costumes which are fully compatible with cutscenes in the game. This will bring a refreshing take on scenes which may have been seen by fans before.

7 years after the launch of the original "Devil May Cry 4," fans will be happy to know that fan favorite Vergil will now be a playable character. Itsuno revealed that Vergil's appearance in the special edition of the game is based on his look and gameplay in "Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening Special Edition." The developers also added elements of his "DmC" rendition to make his character's definitive edition.

A new mechanic, named "Concentration," has also been added in the game and complements Vergil's "iaijutsu" signature fighting style. With this, Vergil's attack will now be stronger and more flawless when he fights. Furthermore, the "Grim Trick" ability enables him to teleport using his "Sword Illusions" and makes for a different experience from that of Nero and Dante.

Lady, Trish, Nero and Dante are also featured in the game which gives players 5 playable characters to choose from. Lady's expertise will be on firearms while Trish is more adept with the Sparda sword. The "Legendary Dark Knight" mode will also be added in the game.
