After the success of Disney's live-action adaptation of their 1950 animated hit "Cinderella," it seems like another princess will be featured in another remake.

"Disney bought a script by writing team Elizabeth Martin and Lauren Hynek that centers on the Chinese legend of Hua Mulan, the female warrior who was the main character in Disney's 1998 animated film," The Hollywood Reporter stated.

The "Mulan" adaptation will be produced by Chris Bender and J.C. Spink, who also produced the film "We're the Millers." They will be producing the new project through their banner Benderspink with Jake Weiner.

"Mulan" is a 1998 animated film which is directed by Tony Bancroft and Barry Cook. It is about the life of a legendary Chinese female warrior who disguised herself as a man, took her father's place in the army and went to war. She then becomes a skilled warrior with the aid of Mushu, her dragon guardian, and a lucky cricket.

The cartoon movie earned $304.3 million worldwide and nominations for the Golden Globe and Academy Award. It resulted to a 2005 direct-to-DVD sequel, the "Mulan II."

The studio's most recent live-action "Cinderella" earned a whopping $336.2 million worldwide since hitting theaters three weeks ago. Previously, their reimagined 2010 film "Alice in Wonderland" grossed $1.02 billion and "Maleficent," which starred Angelina Jolie, earned $758.4 million worldwide.

Disney definitely wants to take advantage of being one of the first in creating live-action adaptations for their hit animations. The studio has recently announced a live-action retelling of "Beauty and the Beast." It will be directed by Bill Condon and will star Emma Watson as Belle, Da Stevens as the Beast and Broadway star Audra McDonald as Garderobe. "Beauty and the Beast" is expected to hit theaters on Mar. 17, 2017.

A sequel to "Alice in Wonderland" and a new version of "The Jungle Book" has also been slated by Disney for 2016. Furthermore, a live-action adaptation of "Dumbo" is in the works and will be helmed by Tim Burton.
