"Persona 5," Atlus' role-playing game (RPG), might have a delayed release as game director Katsura Hashino asked for more time from fans to wait for the highly-anticipated game.
"We're working really hard to make this new one another such game that can reach out to people and grab them. I know it's been a long wait, but I hope you'll give us just a little more time. Hopefully once it's out, it'll all be worth it in the end," Hashino said in an interview with Japanese Persona Magazine last month.
Katsura Hashino and Shigenori Soejima revealed that the theme surrounding the game is about the notion people have that there are some things that they want to do with their lives but, somehow, cannot bring themselves to do it. Hashino feels that people who have that yearning tend to enjoy thief and heist stories because they get a thrill out of the game.
"One of the goals in making 'Persona 5,' then, is to give those people an outlet to explore those thrills and experience that sense of freedom that the protagonists themselves have within the context of a game," Hashino explained.
Soejima also revealed that there are still a lot of updates on the way. Plus, there are more allied characters that they have not shown yet and will be showcasing them soon.
In-game modes such as Cooperation and Sneak are rumored to be new features of the game. Cooperation mode is a system which is similar to the Social Links feature in the previous "Persona" titles. This mode allows players to build relationships with non-playable characters and gain benefits for battles.
The Sneak mode gives players stealth and can be used to avoid new elements in the dungeons of the game. The All-Out Attack will purportedly return for "Persona 5." It is an old mode which enables combined attack of the party.
