"Rock Band 4" release date details may be released during the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2015. The event will be held in Los Angeles from Jun. 16 to Jun. 18, 2015.
"When we stopped developing Rock Band 3 [in 2010], clearly the market needed a break," Alex Rigopulos, Harmonix's Chief Creative Officer, told IGN.
"But since then we've been paying close attention to what our community has been saying about it. There's been this steadily growing crescendo of fans saying, 'Hey Harmonix, what the hell? It's time! Why haven't you announced a new Rock Band? We're ready for it!'"
Harmonix's upcoming music video game will be available for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Video game peripheral company Mad Catz has been enlisted to create new plastic instruments for the game. They have also been allowed to co-publish the game.
Mad Catz will be in-charge of the game's worldwide retail sales, promotion and distribution as well as its hardware bundles. Game Spot reported that more information on the game will be announced during E3. The "Rock Band 4" release date details may be included in the company's statement.
On May 15, Friday, at 3 p.m. ET, IGN will be hosting a one-hour world gameplay reveal of Harmonix's highly-anticipated "Rock Band 4."
"When a huge market appears overnight, it can disappear just as quickly," Rigopulos said. "So this time around we're not trying to recreate that crazy phenomenon. It was amazing of course, but it's an incredibly risky and volatile approach to managing a franchise. There was a lot of bloodlet at the tail end of that phenomenon."
"This time around we're really focusing on serving a smaller, dedicated core of 'Rock Band' enthusiasts and hoping to create a sustainable business that way, rather than trying to create the crazy rollercoaster ride that we were on last time around," he added.
