"Persona 5" characters may be in serious trouble in the next installment of Atlus' role-playing video game series.

The game's story revolves around the adventure and growth of high school students. The protagonist, who has transferred to Shujin High School, will meet new friends. His new life will come with all types of events.

Siliconera reported that a certain incident will be the turning point for "Persona 5" characters. The protagonist and his friends will be able to tap into the power of their hearts, known as their "Personas," and face a giant case.

Character designer Shigenori Soejima has revealed that the protagonist of Atlus' RPG has set up a ruse of some sort in projecting himself as the quiet type. Arsene, his Persona, will give off a classic vibe in terms of his appearance. Arsene's cape has been designed in a way that gives the image of a thief who can reach places where no one can.

The two other "Persona 5" characters are Anne and Ryuji. According to Hashino, the three of them will have their own problems, which may have involved losing their homes. The protagonist's cat has the ability to transform and will reportedly have an important role in the game's story.

Hashino also confirmed that the game will have turn-based battles with minor tweaks to make it more enjoyable. Each character will carry a distinct "gun" which will serve as their ranged weapon. These aren't real guns but can still be used in battle. The game will still be set in randomly-generated areas and will have a Social Link feature.

The release date for "Persona 5" might be delayed since the developers at Atlus are making sure that the game will be able to reach out to people. The game's director hopes that fans' long wait will be worth it in the end.

"In order to meet all of your expectations, even just a little, the development team staff are working hard, so I'd like to say thank you for your continued support," Hashino said.
