Kim Kardashian, Kanye West, and daughter North West were in Armenia recently to visit Kim's ancestral home.
Many Armenian fans speculated that the Kardashians including Kim's sister Kloe were in Armenia to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the murder of 1.5 Armenians by Ottoman Turks. But they were surprised when Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's daughter North West was baptized at an Armenian church in Jerusalem.

Kanye, Kim, Kloe and Nori arrived at the Saint James Cathedral to baptize the 22-month-old rising star.
Khloe played the role of Nori West's godmother and the priest at Saint James took the place of the godfather. An odd convention, but it was adequate for the private ceremony. When there is no official godfather, the priest takes up the role, said TMZ.
Kanye West and Kim Kardashian were pleased to baptize Nori in the heart of Israel and in the Holy Land, which is not something many celebrities get to do.
"Kim was mobbed as she walked into the church, shielding baby North from the massive crowd that had gathered outside the church," reported TMZ.
Yahoo News confirmed in an online report that "hundreds of fans thronged the car, screaming and wolf-whistling as Kardashian climbed out holding her 21-month-old daughter, North."
The report continued to say, that Kim wore "a floor-length, gold-pleated dress with long sleeves and plunging cross-over neckline."
Kardashian and Kanye West shocked the public with the news.
A comment from Lana on Refinery29.com said, "Are you serious? I am so shocked that they would baptize her, and that is so great. I honestly have more respect for them. Staying true to themselves and their values & beliefs. God bless!"
"Kim Kardashian's daughter will be baptized and become a Christian officially and a member of the Armenian church," Archbishop Aris Shirvanian, an official of the Armenian church said.
"All I know is that she's a famous personality. I don't know her in person. In any case she is welcome with her family."
