"Devil May Cry 5" download may arrive as soon as the "Devil May Cry 4" Special Edition sells well, Capcom confirmed.
In an interview with a Hong Kong gaming magazine, series producer Hideaki Itsuno revealed that Capcom is planning to expand the "Devil May Cry" series. It was reported that the better "Devil May Cry 4" Special Edition does in sales the sooner a new game will come, which will most likely be in the form of a "Devil May Cry 5" download.
It also seemed like another game is already being developed. However, Itsuno simply said that the next installment for the action-adventure series has not been announced yet. The release date for "Devil May Cry 5" was reportedly slated for this year.
"We want to reduce the time needed to develop major titles from the usual three-to-four years to only 2.5 years," Kenzo Tsujimoto, Capcom chairman and CEO, told investors before.
"Speeding up development will probably raise the cost. But creating quality content will be vital to Capcom's ability to survive by overcoming intense global competition"
The upcoming "Devil May Cry 5" download will feature the Angel and Devil modes, which allows players to change Dante's moveset, and Turbo mode, which speeds up the gameplay. "Devil May Cry 4" Special Edition is an updated version of the original title and is available for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
"This year Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition will make its way to PlayStation 4 with new modes, gameplay and visual improvements, and the largest roster of playable characters in any Devil May Cry game to date," Itsuno wrote.
The cast for the "Sengoku Basara vs. Devil May Cry" crossover collaborative stage play has been revealed. Hiroki Suzuki will portray Dante while Shōhei Namba will take on Vergil. Lady will be portrayed by Konona Shiba and Ruri Shinato as Trish. Daichi Yamaguchi, Ryūnosuke Matsumura, Tatsuya Isaka, Kōsei Sakurada, Yoshikazu Kotani and Masashi Taniguchi will also be making their appearances in the play which will run from Aug. 20-30 at the AiiA 2.5 Theater Tokyo.
