Princess Charlotte was welcomed into the royal family on May 2 at 8.34am, weighing 8lb 3oz. To celebrate the birth of Princess Charlotte of Cambridge, several commemorative items have been issued, including stamps and gold coins.
In the latest royal baby news, Princess Charlotte royal baby commemorative stamps were issued to celebrate the birth of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's second baby and fourth heir to the throne of England.
With the royal baby settling in at the Palace, collections in honor of Princess Charlotte come in the form of special folders and envelopes at the post office. A spokesman there said, that they are "delighted to join in the royal celebrations following the birth," BBC reported.
Similar collections of royal baby commemorative stamps were released during the birth of Prince George, Charlotte's older brother, and for the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
According to the Westministercollection.com, "new Gold-plated commemorative (featuring) a green zirconia stone, inset in to the floral design, representing the baby's May birthstone - a Emerald" will be available in a limited edition of 4,950 coins worldwide.
The arrival of Princess Charlotte is an auspicious occasion for retailers in UK. The British, on the whole, love their monarchs, and a royal baby is expected to fetch about $1.57 billion for the UK economy.
"I think there will be an immediate boost of around £80 million when the baby is born, with around £20-£25 million spent on souvenirs and the rest on food and drink such as cake and sparkling wine." Prof Joshua Bamfield, director of the Centre for Retail Research said in a Guardian report.
