Two Swedish researchers discovered an online tool that can predict the chances that someone will die in the next five years. The tool called Ubble is an online risk calculator to determine longevity based on the assessment of the health status of the responsdents.

Scientists Andrea Ganna and Erik Ingelsson have conducted a scientific research to develop the said calculator. The respondents were asked questions based on many variables that could be determined as predictors of death, ABC Online reports.

The study, published in the journal The Lancet, utilized data from the UK Biobank, which is a study in the United Kingdom. They were able to collate the data from 655 measures that could influence the presence of premature or early death. From these, 13 questions were formulated for men and 11 for women, The International Business Times reports.

"We found that the variables that most accurately predicted death from all causes within five years did not need to be measured by physical examination, but could be reported by individuals through a questionnaire," study authors Erik Ingelsson and Andrea Ganna wrote in Gizmodo.

The said calculator will generate an Ubble age for each respondent. It then maps the measurements based on data such as demographics, and health and lifestyle associated to death.

The researchers say, "What we did is we took all these measures and tried to study how each of these measurements was predicative of five-year mortality and this is clearly kind of a new approach."

"What we did then was to combine the predictor of mortality together in a score which is able to give you your mortality rates and what we call your Ubble age," they added.

The online calculator can be visited here. However, it is intended for men and women ages 40 to 70 in the United Kingdom.
