If there was one couple in Hollywood that we all had hope for, it was Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck.
To our dismay, the couple announced that they would be spitting on Tuesday after 10 years of marriage, according to E! News.
"After much thought and careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to divorce. We go forward with love and friendship for one another and a commitment to co-parenting our children whose privacy we ask to be respected during this difficult time," the couple said in a statement.
"This will be our only comment on this private, family matter. Thank you for understanding."
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner wed on October 19, 2000 after being cast in several films together, according to People.
“I was definitely attracted to him at fight sight,” Garner had said at the time.
“But I didn’t realize I was going to marry him until a while in. It grew really gradually and sweetly — it was a real courtship.”
The couple have three children together, 9-year-old Violet Affleck, 6-year-old Seraphina Affleck and 3-year-old Samuel Affleck. The “13 Going On 30” actress and the “Gone Girl” star had reportedly been in counseling for two years.
“The finally realized that they just couldn’t get there,” an insider told E! News.
“They were a great team as parents, but with each other, they didn't want the same things. After spending a lot of time figuring that out, they came to the decision that the best thing for them and for the children would be to make a change."
Ben will reportedly be living on the family’s property in a different building.
Despite reports, Jennifer and Ben are reportedly “keeping things out of the courts.”
