Police are investigating a viral video showing pop star Ariana Grande licking doughnuts at a shop in Southern California.
The Associated Press reported that police in Lake Elsinore and Riverside County public health officials were investigating the leaked video. It showed the 22-year-old "Problem" singer and a man with her "maliciously lick" the doughnuts.
"She was really rude," Mayra Solis, 22, a cashier on duty at Wolfee Donuts said. The singer reportedly did not buy any of the doughnuts she licked. Ariana Grande was with her backup dancer, Ricky Alvarez .
Ariana Grande apologized for the doughnut-licking controversy as well as for saying "I hate America" in the video. The singer clarified that she was upset on how Americans consume things without giving any thought to health. She explained that it frustrates her how the U.S. has the highest child obesity rate in the world.
"I am EXTREMELY proud to be an American and I've always made it clear that I love my country," the singer told BuzzFeed. "What I said in a private moment with my friend, who was buying the doughnuts, was taken out of context and I am sorry for not using more discretion with my choice of words."
The singer was spotted with Niall Horan in Spain last month. The two singers were attending a birthday party of a mutual acquaintance. However, there are speculations that they may be dating especially when they were seen partying together at Cirque Le Soir with mutual friends after the "Break Free" singer's show in London.
Plus, two days later, Ariana went to a party at Niall's house and was spotted leaving early in the morning. Later that day, the rumored couple hung out again and went for a shopping trip as well as another late night get-together at Ari's hotel.
Ariana Grande teased her new song recently on Twitter. It appeared to be lyrics from her upcoming single entitled "Moonlight," which is the title track for her next album. "He knows just what it does when he's......... and he calls me moonlight too," the singer tweeted.
