“Modern Family” actress Ariel Winter decided to undergo breast reduction surgery in June, going from an F-cup to a D-cup, according to CBS News.
The 17-year-old recently opened up about her struggle playing teenager Alex Dunphy on “Modern Family” before she had her surgery, according to the U.K. publication The Telegraph.
““[They’d use] big sweaters, or strapping me down, which is fine, I understand that it doesn't fit the character they have in mind. I understand that,” explained Winter.
"But it was difficult to do that every day."
The day she was shopping for a swimsuit was reportedly the day she decided to get breast reduction surgery.
"I went to a swimsuit store with my cousin a few months ago and couldn't find a bathing suit that fit me," she said.
"I really felt bad about myself. I didn't feel happy.”
Prior to her recent surgery, the actress reportedly experienced a lot of physical pain, including being unable to stand up straight for long periods of time.
Winter stated that she feels great after the surgery.
“I was up and running within five days. The feeling of not having so much there was such a relief!” she said.
“I wasn't hesitant at all. I wasn't sad. I was really so thrilled about it and the idea of not being burdened with these any longer."
