Mitsuki's father has finally been revealed in "Boruto: Naruto the Movie."
The mysterious ninja's parentage was previously teased in a "Boruto: Naruto the Movie" trailer. The latest footage showed the film's protagonist, Boruto, with Sarada and Mitsuki. Boruto and Sarada were asking Mitsuki about his parents.
Mitsuki revealed his parents' names but it was edited out of the "Boruto: Naruto the Movie" trailer. It was revealed that his father was none other than Orochimaru. This revelation would most likely confirm speculations that Mitsuki would be a villain in the story and become Boruto's rival.
Mitsuki's name literally means "full moon" in Japanese. He is described as "an enigma shrouded in many mysteries. A boy with a composed expression... His slightly-long white hair has a waviness to it."
"Naruto" manga creator Masashi Kishimoto and Kenji Taira, who previously worked on "Naruto Spin-Off: Rock Lee & His Ninja Pals," have created a "Boruto -Road to 'B'-" manga one-shot for the 36th issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine.
In Kishimoto's part of the one-shot, the ninja Mitsuki will introduce Boruto and Sarada as members of his team. Mitsuki would have revealed his own identity, except that he teases that he "ran out of space" and urges readers to watch the movie for more details.
Design&Trend reported that Himawari Uzumaki may also become a villain in the story. In a new "Naruto" manga entitled "Naruto Special Gaiden," Himawari was depicted with the ability to consciously awaken the Byakugan after Boruto made her angry.
As the story progressed, Himawari was also able to knock Naruto out which caused him to miss his inauguration as Hokage. Her wicked nature may just be comical relief for the plot or could be a foreshadowing of a more sinister character development.
Naruto was depicted as a neglectful father in the film and his relationship with his son caused Boruto to become a headstrong, emotionally-damaged child. It may also be the case with Himawari.
