“Harry Potter” and J.K. Rowling fans have very exciting news awaiting them.
The “Harry Potter” spin-off series, “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” has officially begun filming, according to EW.com.
Filming started yesterday at Warner Bros. Studios in Leavesden, England, according to Business Wire. The film is reportedly being directed by David Yates, who was responsible for the greatness of the last four “Harry Potter” films.
J.K. Rowling reportedly wrote the screenplay about Newt Scamander, the wizarding world’s leading magizoologist, who arrives in New York in order to find and document magical creatures.
Eddie Redmayne reportedly stars as Newt while Katherine Waterston has been cast as Newt’s wife, Tina. Alison Sudol has reportedly been cast as Tina’s sister Queenie.
The rest of the cast includes Dan Fogler, Ezra Miller, Samantha Morton, Jenn Murray, Faith Wood-Blagrove and Colin Farrell.
The film is being produced by David Heyman, J.K Rowling, Steve Kloves and Lionel Wigram.
“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” which was inspired by Scamander’s textbook of the same time, will be out in theaters on November 18, 2016.
