August is almost gone and while there was hope for a while after Frank Ocean website upgrades, now it seems "Boys WILL Cry" after there isn't a yet a new album, with the artist even backing out his FYF Fest appearance.
The heartbreak keeps going as Frank Ocean fans continue to be disappointed with the singer-songwriter after the expected and announced new album made no show last July. Now, the R&B-rapper has also made known that his appearance in the upcoming FYF Fest will not happen.
In a report by Mic, it wasn't only pointed out that the new album still hasn't surfaced or even at least news about its release but also that Frank Ocean has now backed out of performing in the coming FYF Fest happening in California. The event's headliner backed out of the appearance altogether, and now surprised fans have become even angrier after no updates on the new album and now this performance cancellation.
In light of the cancelled appearance, Frank Ocean's publicist released the statement as reported by EW where the camp said, "We're really sorry that due to a scheduling conflict beyond our control, Frank Ocean is not going to be able to appear at FYF Festival as planned. Frank had really been looking forward to the performance and to seeing all of his fans, so it is with great regret that we announce this cancellation."
A bittersweet announcement for fans as some of course were disappointed by the no-show Frank Ocean again, but at least some are pointing out that the artist's camp had at least owned up to the cancelled performance---unlike the still-MIA new album.
It was early this year that Frank Ocean himself announced the coming of his sophomore album, reportedly titled "Boys Don't Cry" and that the date will be sometime in July. The month has passed, and now August is almost gone with no news whatsoever about the highly anticipated new album.
Previous reports have revealed, however, that because of the drastic changes and redirected movements in the official Frank Ocean website, the artist's camp is already preparing to make some massive announcements on the new album, but to this day, all but speculation remain about if and when the new Frank Ocean album is actually coming.
Fans are definitely not pleased, Frank.
