As of Wednesday, August 26, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has announced a voluntary recall for several brands produced by Bimbo Bakeries. These include Sara Lee, L'Oven Fresh, Kroger, Great Value, and Nature's Harvest. This is after the company has received 3 reports of their packed breads containing shards of glass. So far, nobody has been reported injured.
Based on the investigation, a lightbulb was broken in one of their facilities, with its fragments possibly contaminating the products.
At least 48,000 packs are subject voluntary recall with best-by dates ranging from August 31 to September 1. These dates can be seen at the lower front section of the bread's bag. The bakery code, meanwhile, is 1658, and it is found on the left side of the best-by date. The affected packs are currently sold in 11 states.
