A report by IBTimes revealed what Andrew Garfield said about Tom Holland being casted the lead role in the upcoming "Spider-Man" reboot. "Well, nothing, because I was never Spider-Man," said Garfield. "Because Spider-Man's a fictional character, not real."
"You know what's funny, to give you the vulnerable answer, I thought I was going to be Spider-Man, you know? I went into it going...ego sh*t came in. It's like, okay, here it is, I'm f***ing Spider-Man, I f***ing made it. All that sh*t. I didn't actually make it. I was never Spider-Man," added the previous "Spider-Man" lead cast.
Tom Holland was casted as Peter Parker in the upcoming "Spider-Man" reboot set for release in 2017. Because a younger actor was casted to portray Peter Parker, it was initially thought that an origin story will rule the coming reboot. However, writers John Francis Daley and Jonathan M. Goldstein revealed the truth behind casting a much younger lead.
"I think it'll be a fun departure from the Peter Parker you've seen", shared Daley to Den Of Geek, "where now he is truly a kid and I think the stakes are increased in that his struggle through high school is very real and isn't just a sort of side note. It matters now."
Meanwhile, apart from casting Tom Holland as the new Peter Parker in the upcoming "Spider-Man" reboot, the new villain has been rumored to arrive in the 2017 movie. According to ScreenRant, Kraven the Hunter will be the next to wreak havoc in the "Spider-Man" reboot.
While this fits the entire "departure from the Peter Parker" statement from the writers, fans now ask what kind of terror Kraven the Hunter will inflict on a younger, less equipped Peter Parker.
