The 37-year old host of Fox and Friends, Elisabeth Hasselbeck has finally returned to the show last Friday. She was absent for nearly one month after undergoing surgery and a cancer scare. She apparently had a tumor in her abdomen that needs to be removed.

She was advised that the tumor might be cancerous that is why it needs surgical removal. However, after the surgery, she had to rest for a month. Luckily, the tumor is benign and non-cancerous. She is a mother of three and wife of NFL football player Tim Hasselbeck.

It took them one week to know the results of the biopsy. She is thankful that everything is going well. On the show, she emotionally revealed what she had to undergo. "We had real serious talks at home and honest ones with the kids. So many people I know have stared down the barrel of that cancer gun, and looked at it when they have gotten bad news and done remarkable things courageously to fight it," she told the viewers of the show last Friday. She added, "But I'm okay. Everything came back okay. Surgery's not fun, but it is necessary to find out if you have something really terrible."

She cleared that she has no cancer and thanked her family who stood by her. She also expressed her gratitude to the producers, Fox News CEO Roger Ailes and her fans who supported her throughout her leave. During her absence on the show, Kimberly Guilfoyle took her part during her absence.

On Thursday, Hasselbeck tweeted that she is very thankful and 'full of gratitude' as she returns to the show. She became part of Fox and Friends after doing "Survivor" and "The View".

In related news, there are many personalities who revealed they have cancer. Cancer is claiming to be one of the causes of mortality worldwide. In fact, according to the Cancer Research UK, 331,487 people in the UK were diagnosed with cancer in 2011. However, in the United States, breast cancer rates have dropped down since year 2000.
