The big reveal for "No Man's Sky" release date may happen this Friday!

TechnoBuffalo reported that Hello Games' founder Sean Murray is set to appear on Stephen Colbert's "The Late Show" this Oct. 2. The publication speculated that the talk show host might be the one to persuade the developer to reveal the highly-anticipated "No Man's Sky" release date.

Sean Murray will also be showing an on-air demonstration of the game with the host, with the help of YouTube video game reviewer PewDiePie. His appearance in "The Late Show" will mark the game's first public appearance since E3 2015 last June.

Sean Murray appearance at Stephen Colbert's "The Late Show" will be on Oct. 2 at 11:35 p.m. EST.

It was previously reported that the game will be featured in The New Yorker festival on Oct. 3, Saturday. There were speculations that the "No Man's Sky" release date might be revealed during Murray's 90-minute conversation about the game, entitled "Blast Off," with the publication's staff writer Raffi Khatchadourian.

The event will start by 7 p.m. and tickets are now on sale for $45. The New Yorker festival will be held at the One World Trade Center in New York.

Hello Games' founder revealed that he and his team are attempting to do something which has never been done before. With about 18 quintillion planets to explore, "No Man's Sky" gameplay may confuse players because of its vast universes.

"No game has made it possible to fly down to a planet, and for it to be planet-sized, and feature life, ecology, lakes, caves, waterfalls, and canyons, then seamlessly fly up through the stratosphere and take to space again," Murray said.

Players will take on the role of astronauts and the main objective is to get to the center of the universe. They can earn through taking notes of the planets and creatures they encounter and uploading the information to a network called Atlas.
