With the new Frank Ocean album still MIA, latest updates have revealed that the singer-songwriter remains working on new music with speculations running wild that this isn't "Boys Don't Cry." Does this mean the sophomore LP will never see the light of day after all?
Latest news have revealed that while fans are still waiting for the release of the new album for months now, Frank Ocean is rumored to be still in production, collaborating with numerous artists---and not necessarily for "Boys Don't Cry."
According to LesInRocks via MusicTimes, Ed Banger Records' Pedro Winter, shared details of Frank Ocean's collaboration. He said, "just finished the production for a few pieces for Frank Ocean - a very exciting collaboration - and then he can turn to his second album."
While a good news for Frank Ocean fans as they have been waiting for quite sometime about an update for the new album, this causes confusion within the artist's fanbase. "Boys Don't Cry" was slated for release last July as announced by Frank Ocean himself via his Tumblr account. However, the month came and no new album, not even a peep from Frank Ocean or his people. Now, it's already October and while there have been speculations about activity on the new album, nothing has surfaced so far.
With this latest collaboration news, fans are now asking if the July release date was a hoax, directed just to excite fans since it seems Frank Ocean is continually working on the new album?
Was he actually planning to release "Boys Don't Cry" last July and had simply become dissatisfied and tweaked what could've been his sophomore album? Or did Frank Ocean simply let "Boys Don't Cry" go, and is now currently working on a new album replacement as this new collaboration news has revealed?
