"Pokken Tournament" Wii U will be available next year.

Destructoid confirmed that Nintendo has announced the game's worldwide availability next spring. "Pokken Tournament" Wii U is a revamped version of Bandai Namco's arcade fighting game which was released exclusively in Japan last Jul. 16, 2015.

"Pokken Tournament" Wii U, which looks similar to "Tekken" but with "Pokémon" characters, strives to combine the classic fighting game elements with a genuine "Pokémon" experience. The game's announcement was made during this year's Pokémon World Championships, which took place in Boston.

iDigitalTimes reported that a new trailer for "Pokken Tournament" Wii U has been released. Fans can watch the footage for more gameplay details on the arcade game. The video featured two new support characters that will be added to arcades.

There will be a new stage in the game while Ninetails and Mismagius will be added to the support roster. Emolga, Snivy, Frogadier, Fennekin, Lapras and Eevee are some of the Support Pokémon announced. Other assist characters are Whimsicott and Jirachi.

Among the confirmed Battle Pokémon are Lucario, with his burst attack Aura Blast, Pikachu with Volt Shock Fist, Machamp with Dynamic Fury, Gardevoir with Fairy Tempest, Weavile with Sonic Slash, Suicune with True Sheer Cold, Charizard with Searing Blaze and Gengar with Shadow Drop.

In another report, Destructoid revealed that "Pokken Tournament" is being removed in one popular Japanese arcade due to its unpopularity and unprofitability. A redditor added that the game was also not very popular in America at two Dave and Buster's branches.

"Pokken' machines were mostly a ghost town with little interest at Dave's, while everyone was raving near the 'Tekken 7' machines," the redditor posted.

According to Segment Next, a series of tweets by Japanese arcade owners showed that the arcade machines will be removed come November. The publication commented that if this keeps up, the game might not be distributed in North America.
