"Dragon Ball Super" episode 21 was said to be a better episode compared to what was shown last week.

Attack of the Fanboy reported that "Dragon Ball Super" episode 21 told a different story from "Resurrection of F." The publication added that in the "Battle of Gods" saga, the series kept the movie's plot.

At the time, there were several complaints that the series was just rehashing the "Battle of Gods" story without explaining why some things happened the way they did. "Dragon Ball Super" episode 6, 8 and 19 were just some of the rehashed installments in the series.

In "Dragon Ball Super" episode 21, Vegeta and Goku were still training with Whis who transported them to a different place. According to him, their new location will help the two Saiyans unlock more power.

It looks like the series will reveal how Vegeta and Goku will be able to achieve the Super Saiyan Blue form. This new ultra-powerful form was not explained in the "Resurrection of F" movie.

According to Kpopstarz, while the two Saiyans were training with Whis in "Dragon Ball Super" episode 21, they had no idea that Earth is under attack by Frieza.

Meanwhile, Frieza instructed his army to kill Krillin to make Goku mad. However, Krillin was able to hold his ground.

Gohan still gets knocked out but, unlike in the "Resurrection of F" movie, it was not Frieza who did it. In "Dragon Ball Super" episode 21, Tagoma, Frieza's purple henchman, critically injures Gohan with his energy blast.

AOTFB commented that Tagoma is being made into a big threat in the series. Fans may get to see more of him in action in the next episode.

"Dragon Ball Super" episode 21 was said to have had decent fight sequences and adequate animation. Captain Ginyu made a cameo at the very end of this week's installment.
