Every parent knows that crying-and a lot of it-is all part of having a baby. The problem is there seems to be not a single trick that can calm him until this video came out.

The video features a Dr. Robert Hamilton trying to pacify two babies in a matter of a few seconds, a feat that even seasoned parents would have a hard time figuring out, more so mastering.

Now dubbed as the baby whisperer, Dr. Hamilton currently works as a 30-year pediatrician in a Santa Monica California clinic. In his YouTube channel, he uploaded the video on Sunday, Nov 29, and has since gone viral with more than 4 million views as of the moment.

Dr. Hamilton calls the technique the Hold. First, he lifts the upset baby up, holding him under the chin with the fleshy part of the hand and in a 45-degree angle to ensure that the baby doesn't go backward, forcing the person holding to lose the grip. Then he folds each of the baby's arms across the chest, locking them with the rest of the one hand. The other is used to keep the baby's bottom down. With the baby fully secure and in a correct position, he goes on to rock the baby very gently in many directions, which can be up or down as well as clockwise or counterclockwise. It's important parents do not jerk the baby.

As seen in the video, the two upset babies no sooner calmed down. Dr. Hamilton attests that the technique is so effective it has a no-fail guarantee. Although he can do it in his clinic, he's sharing the video so parents at home can learn it too.

While the method is great, there are a few caveats. One, it may not be ideal for babies three months and above since by then the babies would be very heavy to hold well. Second, it doesn't guarantee the baby won't cry again, but if it happens, it could mean he's hungry or sleepy.
