Jimmy Fallon's "The Tonight Show" has recently garnered its highest-rated episode.
Cinema Blend reported that Jimmy Fallon and his "The Tonight Show" is "quietly getting more and more popular." Its Tuesday episode was the highest-rated installment of the series in the past 10 months.
Jimmy Fallon's "The Tonight Show" has received a 3.4 rating in the 56 metered market households in the U.S. NBC has not pointed this out. However, it certainly is defeating the competition.
The Tuesday night episodes of "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" and "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" only garnered a 1.9 and 1.7 rating, respectively. The publication commented that Jimmy Fallon has been beating out the other late night hosts for quite some time now.
BWW added that Jimmy Fallon's "The Tonight Show" easily topped the adult 18-49 rating in the local people meters at 1.2. "The Late Show" only received 0.4 while Jimmy Kimmel's show got 0.5.
Guests in Jimmy Fallon's "The Tonight Show" last Tuesday were Mark Wahlberg, Bill Burr and musical guest Sheryl Crow.
Another NBC show, "Late Night with Seth Meyers," has also been doing well in the ratings. It managed to tie with Kimmel's show at 1.7. "That's not too shabby for a show that airs an hour later when a lot of individuals have gone to bed," Cinema Blend commented.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, there are a lot of theories about why Colbert is losing his popularity. One veteran late-night writer described him as a very funny guy but he may be "too smart for a mass audience." A producer advised him to be "more commercial and more social media friendly."
Meanwhile, Jimmy Fallon and The Roots created their own "Star Wars" a cappella medley as tribute to "The Force Awakens."
Today reported that the host got Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Gwendoline Christie, Lupita Nyong'o, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford to pay an a capella tribute to the franchise's score along with in-house band The Roots.
