There are rumors which suggest "Back To The Future 4" is in the making, however, no release date or any other details about the film has been discussed up to now.
In an interview with Hollywood Reporter, Christopher Lloyd, the actor who plays Doc Emmett Brown in the series, revealed his desire to reprise his role in the upcoming film.
"I would love to do Doc again, no question," Lloyd said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. "[But] it's tough to come up with an idea that contains the excitement of the original three."
The interview was conducted on "Back To The Future" day back in October, the same day when rumors of "Back To The Future 4" release date emerged.
Lloyd also talked about the potential challenges that might hinder the production of the film considering the years that has passed since the release of the last movie.
"So it would be a real challenge for the writers to come up with an original Back To The Future story that has the same passion and intensity and excitement as the other three," the actor said about the potential announcement of a "Back To The Future 4" release date. "But it could be done, you never know."
Actress Lea Thompson also revealed her desire to reprise her role of Lorraine Baines McFly in the film.
"Age makeup is kind painful, and it's strange to act in because if you move your face too much you tear it, and if you tear it you ruin the whole day," Thompson said in an interview with The Toronto Sun about a possible "Back To The Future 4" release date.
"It's a different time to be older now," she added. "I'm sitting here basically wearing the same dress my daughter would wear. I've got the same hair my daughter would wear. We can get away with that stuff."
The actress said that if offered, she would like to play the role again.
"If they were making it and they were asking, I'd be interested," she said.
With actors expressing desire to reprise their roles, fans are expecting Universal Pictures might announce a release date for the film in no time.
