To delight the fans, MTV has officially renewed one of its horror genre TV series dubbed as "Scream," with a release date slated on April 20, 2016. The season 1 of the TV series has evidently ended with a blast and left viewers with numerous inquiries driving into Season 2.
As noted by "Scream" Wikia, MTV officially announced the renewal last June 29, 2015, at the Comic-Con panel, which has also been confirmed by the TV series' executive producer.
Thus, fans have been apparently contemplating about what is the possible turn of events that might happen in the upcoming season 2 of "Scream."
The upcoming season 2 will reportedly take place six months after the events of the first season, where the main protagonist, Emma Duval (Willa Fitzgerald) and her friends will still be in secondary school.
As a matter of fact, Entertainment Weekly noted that the season 2 will evidently concentrate on whoever the killer's accomplice is, as revealed by executive producer Jill Blotevogel.
In the stunning season finale of the first season, it was uncovered to the viewers that Piper Shaw (Amelia Rose Blaire) is the veiled executioner, where speculations are claiming that she may have an accomplice.
Albeit MTV didn't reveal the said accomplice's identity in the season finale, it was vigorously insinuated that Piper's partner was Audrey Jensen (Bex Taylor-Klaus), following an interview with the series' executive producer Blotevogel, where she talked about the possibility of Audrey turning into the miscreant in season 2.
"We discussed a lot of possibilities - a lot of single killers and a lot of partnerships. Audrey was a character who was always a really interesting possibility for us," said Blotevogel in an interview with TV Line.
The executive producer further revealed that she considers Audrey as a wild card for Season 2 since the profundity of her involvement isn't yet revealed - only a connection to Piper.
According to Venture Capital Post, a lot of dark secrets about Audrey will evidently be unleashed in the approaching Season 2, following her anger video and the bullying she had experienced.
What's more, Blotevogel moreover confirmed that Piper is dead although they couldn't find the body at the end of season 1. Hence, there are speculations that Piper may show up in the upcoming Season 2 as flashbacks.
