Madonna and Guy Ritchie continue to battle over custody of their son Rocco ever since they got divorced in 2008.
After the teenager joined his mother for her Rebel Heart Tour, he flew to the United Kingdom to be with his father. Unfortunately, he never returned to the United States.
"He should have been home already," a source told PEOPLE. "Madonna is a devoted mother, and a big priority is her children's education."
According to the website, the probable reason that he decided to stay with his dad is because he got tired of her mom's tour. This was confirmed by a separate report from Mirror, which revealed that Madonna and Guy Ritchie's son Rocco prefers being away from the limelight.
"When Rocco is in England he gets to live a low-key life," an insider told The Sun. "He can go about his business and talk to girls without paparazzi stalking him."
Despite being a successful director in the UK, Guy managed to keep a private life with his family. The 47-year-old filmmaker married model Jacqui Ainsley last year and they now have three children. Madonna's 15-year-old son seems to enjoy his freedom more with his father.
"When he stays with his dad, he is allowed to play guitar until the early hours of the morning," their source said. "Guy does have rules, but he had zero confidence growing up and wants his son to feel empowered."
The multi-award winning singer tried to reach out to her son on Instagram by sharing a photo of all her children and captioned it: "Love conquers all."
Even if Rocco was away spending the holidays with his dad Guy Ritchie, Madonna managed to send a special greeting to him via Instagram. However, the 15-year-old doesn't seem thrilled by it as he blocked his mom on Instagram.

"It's not a great sign that Rocco is blocking his mom on social media, especially after all the rumors that she was embarrassing him with her posts about him," a source told The Sun via Mirror. "It's even more of a blow because he allows Jacqui and Guy to still follow him and he follows them back. Hopefully this is just a teenage teething problem."
