The NBA All-Star Game was supposed to be a friendly exhibition game with the world's best players as a treat for the fans.

However, deciding who gets to play in the game has become a polarizing issue in the league and has often led to controversy.

Washington Wizards' superstar John Wall has been very vocal with how the public has treated him. He once complained about how he has the same salary as Reggie Jackson and also commented on how he would probably not be included in Team USA's roster.

In his recent tirade, he called the All-Star voting process a "joke" as detailed by CSN Mid Atlantic's J. Michael.

"It's a joke," Wall declared. "I played like horse[diddley-poo] the first month and a half but I still was averaging like 16 and eight. That's not bad numbers."

The context of his statements is how he is only fifth place in the East backcourt balloting while Kyrie Irving of the Cleveland Cavaliers ranked second. Based on All-Star Game rules, Irving will get the starting spot if he holds on to the position, even if he has only played a couple of games as he returned from injury.

It seems like Wall's comments did not sit well with Kyrie Irving, as he outplayed him when the two meets met, at Washington's homecourt.

The Washington Post had to admit, Irving is on his way to the top after a spectacular performance that put all questions about his All-Star status to rest.

"Irving's performance was the kind that makes you understand why LeBron James said earlier this week that Irving has the potential to be the league's most valuable player, and why Cleveland is so far ahead of everyone in the Eastern Conference," the Post stated.

Irving scored 32 points against the Wizards while John Wall had 20 points and 12 assists for the home team.
