After years of losing, the New York Knicks finally have a team that looks promising.
The Madison Square Garden is once again alive as the team has assembled a good blend of talent, role players, promising rookies and a superstar player in Carmelo Anthony.
As per nytimes.com, the Knicks are starting to trust each other and has resulted in big wins. "I think everybody's trusting each other more," said Calderon after the team beat the young Milwaukee Bucks. "That's the key - there is no secret. Just trust your teammates and play together. We're finding the right guys when they're open. We're not forcing too many shots like maybe we did earlier in the season."
"I think it's really about finding a way to perfect our process," Fisher said about the team's marked improvement. "If we can get to a point where we're being the best of who we are, we're capable of it, for sure."
Now, with the Knicks fighting for a playoff spot, the team has been rumored to make a trade to upgrade their backcourt. Rumors have surfaced that the team is looking to upgrade their shooting guard position as Aaron Afflalo has been inconsistent and Sasha Vujacic has been inefficient.
According to sportsworldreport.com, the starting backcourt for the Knicks has been outperformed by their bench backcourt duo of Langston Galloway and Jerian Grant. The team outscores opponents by nearly 21 points per 36 minutes with Galloway and Grant as opposed to Jose Calderon and Vujacic only outscoring teams 12.1 points per 36 minutes of action
According to yibada.com, the Knicks could look into swapping sixth man Derrick Williams for Los Angeles Lakers guard Nick Young. With the much-improved play of Lance Thomas, Williams has become expendable. Moreover, the Lakers are already giving up on this season and could look to start clearing up their roster.
