Numerous fans from all across the globe have been patiently waiting and trusting that the Showtime cable network would make an official announcement with regards to "Dexter's" potential spin-off.

Taking three years after the last broadcast of the crime drama mystery TV series' Season 8, where vast majority of the fans were highly baffled about how "Dexter" ended, they felt hanging that prompts them to ask for a spinoff to find answers to their questions.

However, several fans strongly speculated that a "Dexter" spin-off might not be happening as the maker of the TV series gives no sign or development of it.

Several new reports, on the other hand, are claiming that actor Michael C. Hall, the performer who portrayed Dexter Morgan in the series, might have signed a contract for two more seasons of "Dexter."

In any case, the question is, is it possible that after three years, Showtime will resurrect Dexter Morgan and bring new life into the critically acclaimed primetime show?

As recalled, numerous of the fans were apparently requesting the Showtime, that Dexter Morgan should be given a superior conclusion.

It was beforehand announced that the cable company was planning on bringing the show back, if and only if, actor Michael Hall would reprise his role in the TV series, according to Zap2it.

All things considered, it appears that Showtime won't grant the fans' wish, which is the "Dexter" spin-off. But instead, it will allegedly have a reboot of the TV series. "The show is ideal for a reboot, particularly because it is in need of redemption," Inquisitr reported, recalling the trail of bodies left by Hall as the title character.

Possible reboot talks further have it that the reboot would apparently rewind to Season 4, where every one of the characters that died in Season 5 through Season8 would reportedly be alive once more.

"They would backtrack and correct many of the wrongs, including Rita's [Julie Benz] murder," according to Celeb Dirty Laundry.

Concentrating on the mystery life as a vigilante serial executioner, "Dexter" finished after season 8, drawing a Showtime record of 2.8 million viewers to its finale season way back in September 2013.

"Dexter" writer Jeff Lindsay, then again, fuelled the reboot speculations and allegedly stated that Dexter Morgan should not get a happily ever after, where his idea for a reboot was that "Dexter was dreaming in the last scene of the finale and couldn't escape and was reportedly caught."

As per reports, season 9 would professedly showcase Dexter at Florida's state prison on death row. What's more, several speculations are claiming that the season 9 reboot of "Dexter" is relied upon to have an early released date in 2017.

While nothing is impossible, the reports should be taken with a grain of salt unless Showtime will officially announced and confirm "Dexter's" potential reboot.
