The Philadelphia 76ers might have a faster overhaul than they originally planned and they are now in the thick of NBA trade rumors.

From their strategy of accumulating assets, the recent hiring of veteran executive Jerry Colangelo may fast track their original, long-term plan.

According to Philly Mag, they wanted Colangelo's tradition of success to rub off on the organization. He has been known as a "proven winner" and has the ability to turn franchises around in a short amount of time, as PM cited his early tenure with the Phoenix Suns.

"The Suns had some surprising early success, including a playoff appearance in just their second season of existence, but they really found their footing after making a trip to the 1976 NBA Finals, just their 8th season in the league," said Philly Mag.

Fast forward to 2015, and Colangelo is now expected to weave his magic with the most downtrodden team in the NBA, and the first thing he would probably address is their woefully unbalanced roster.

To be specific, the Sixers overall scarcity of talent was highlighted by the logjam of wealth at the center position and their lack of scorers at the backcourt.

Current speculation revolved around trading one of their (active) centers, Nerlens Noel and Jahlil Okafor for a backcourt scorer and Yibada named Bradley Beal of the Washington Wizards as a possible target.

"The trade would send Nerlens Noel and the 2016 first round picks of OKC and Miami that the Sixers have acquired. The Wizards could send Bradley Beal and Marcin Gortat's contract to the Wizards," as proposed by Yibada.

They rationalize that Beal is currently "the bigger asset" so the Sixers need to package some picks to acquire his rights.

For the Wizards, they get to address a clear need (interior defense) and gain some more picks to make their team more attractive to Kevin Durant.
