"The Orchard" and "Sony Pictures Worldwide" acquired the international and domestic rights of this movie. This movie was not released for the mass.
It was premiered at the Chattanooga Film Festival on Apr. 3, 2015, Sarasota Film Festival on Apr. 16, 2015, Chicago Critics Film Festival on May. 1, 2015, the Traverse City Film Festival on Aug. 1, 2015 and the Maryland Film Festival on May. 7, 2015.
Directed by Joe Swanberg, Rotten tomatoes gave this movie a rating of 64%. Metacritic gave it 69% and IMDb a score of 6/10.
This American dramedy was appreciated by Roger Bert and they advised the viewers to watch it. The New York Times did a comprehensive review and mentioned ''Digging for Fire," Joe Swanberg's new feature is, like many of his previous movies, a case study in heterosexual ethics.''
