"Flame of Recca" is one of the most popular anime series in the latter part of the 90s. It's one of the many fighting tournament anime series that immediately made its mark on anime fans worldwide.
The anime features the story of Recca Hanabishi, a self-proclaimed ninja who is actually part of a great ninja clan. One day, he is called to be part of the tournament where he will have to protect "his princess" Yanagi who has the power to heal any wounds.
According to Anime News Network, the popular manga/anime series has been added to the increasingly large anime library on Crunchyroll. Fans of the anime can enjoy the series in the original Japanese language format with English subtitles or the English-dubbed version.
With regards to the release, "the full 42-episode series is available for premium members, and Crunchyroll will release 13 episodes for free members every week." As of this writing, the release will be available for North America, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and the UK.
Complementing the release of "Flame of Recca," Crunchyroll also announced the inclusion of "Ultraman Gaia." For the unfamiliar, the TV series focuses on "super-intelligent college student Gamu Takayama, who bonds with the mysterious light of Ultraman Gaia in order to stop devastating attacks by inscrutable aliens."
According to My Anime List, "Flame of Recca" ran for 42 episodes with its original run from July 1997 to July 1998. "Ultraman Gaia" on the other hand, ran for 51 episodes and originally aired from September 1998 to August 1999.
Anime lovers will definitely enjoy the recent release of "Flame of Recca" through Crunchyroll since it will be displayed in an improved video quality compared to uploaded videos in other streaming sites.
As of this writing, there is no word whether the release will be available in full HD display.
