Conspiracy theorists have long believed in the existence of extraterrestrial life. Consequently, they are adamant that the government has covered up recent encounters with these alien beings.
Most of them cite the 1960 NASA report often referred to as "Brookings Reports" as evidence of the agency and the government withholding evidence of life outside of earth. The document discusses policy issues surrounding space exploration. In one section, it is suggested that contact with Alien life would not be beneficial to the current structure of human civilization. While not specifically mentioned, the report hints that leaders might find it necessary to hold off in announcing proof of extraterrestrial life for the better interest of the general public.
Though tangible proof of alien life remains elusive, theorists remain steadfast in their belief. Fortunately for them, a recently declassified NASA document might just be the evidence they have long been waiting for.
Before the historic Apollo 11 moon landing, NASA astronauts Thomas P. Stafford, John Young and Eugene Cernan launched aboard the Apollo 10 in order to orbit the Earth's satellite. As the astronauts were passing by the far side of the moon leaving them without radio contact with Earth, the three crew members heard sounds that seemed unnatural from where they are. The logs of their mission, including details of the sound they heard, have since been kept classified by the space agency.
It wasn't until 2008 until the transcripts were uncovered and since then scientists have been debating on what the three astronauts heard during their trip.
"We'd had a lot of incidents where guys who flew in space saw and heard things that they didn't recognize, and you wonder about all of that. I have a very open mind about what could've happened" quipped Al Worden, an astronaut part of the Apollo 15 mission.
NASA has yet to provide a statement regarding said recordings.
