A mother from Logan has just been charged with multiple counts of felony for communications fraud and forgery after she faked and altered documents to support her claim she's suffering from a brain cancer.

Twenty-six-year-old Lesley Elizabeth Jensen hogged the headlines in Logan City and even the rest of Cache County after she shared that she was suffering from a terminal brain cancer glioblastoma. This is the same disease suffered by Brittany Maynard, who chose to end her life early in November.

It was definitely a story that tugged a lot of hearts, as she's a mother battling a serious illness but waking up every morning for the love of her daughter, who is 6 years old. It didn't come as a surprise therefore when many decided to support her.

Café Sabor, where she once worked, held a fund-raiser on one of their "dedicated employees," and a non-profit organization made some payments under her name. Although the money didn't go to her treatments, it can be used to support her daily expenses. Overall, it's believed she obtained as much as $17,000 in total contributions.

However, during the investigation of her claims, the police found out that she may have been faking or forging documents, such as doctor's prescriptions and test results, which she presented to the public.

They believed that she may have planned the scheme for many months. Although they couldn't pinpoint the main reason behind it, it's possible that her recent tax troubles may have something to do with it.

Last Wednesday, she went missing only to be found in a remote location within the county. She was immediately taken to the hospital, and no other information was provided.

In a press conference held on Friday, police chief of the city, wants to remind those who contributed to not lose hope as there are still more people with legitimate illnesses who needed help.
