Now you can preorder Amazon's "Echo Show" for $229 which has 7 inch display to show news clips, videos, photos and more.
Plus, Amazon is introducing a new chat service that lets you call anyone else with a supported Echo device or the Alexa app.
The device itself is built like a cool digital alarm clock, with the 7-inch screen with pair of speaker drivers. It uses Amazon's Alexa virtual assistant, so you can play with it using your voice just as you would a typical Echo, Echo Dot, or the Alexa app. It can show information like weather forecasts, YouTube videos and Amazon products.
This new product comes at a time where Amazon is already showing its strength in the smart hub market. Research firm eMarketer has just published a study saying a 70.6 percent U.S. market share for Alexa-powered smart hubs, compared to just 23.8 percent for Google Home.
The Echo Show is equiiped with two Dolby stereo speakers, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera and an Intel Atom processor. It weighs 2.5 pounds (1.13 kg).
Amazon sells its Echo in the UK but didn't announce pricing or a release date for the Echo Show in UK. The Echo Show's US price converts to about £180.
