The condition of Liberian National, Thomas Eric Duncan, worsened as he battles Ebola, a very fatal disease. This condition is critical because the virus can affect many parts of the body. According to the federal health officials, his condition is worsening, with still no signs of recovery. In fact, they changed his condition from serious to critical.

The cases of Ebola rose up considerably high since it started in Africa. Ebola is a very fatal disease, amounting to only 50% survival rate. Based on the latest statistics according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), this year's outbreak is the largest in history. Up to date, the virus has taken 3,400 lives since its outbreak last March 2014.

Meanwhile, the CDC came up with now only nine people who came in close contact with the patient. The CDC is confirming over 100 potential cases of Ebola, but no one has been confirmed yet. Joint force of the health council and the American government is unfolded to control the spread of this deadly illness.

Ebola virus may cause fever, vomiting, and diarrhea which can later on affect vital organs and eventually death if not controlled. Supportive management is done to help the immune system of the body to fight the virus.

In related news, the identified people who came in close contact with Duncan have been placed in isolation as well as the two school girls who had encounters with the patient. They were barred from attending classes in school to limit their exposure to other kids.

Duncan was believed to have helped a pregnant woman in Liberia. Days later, the pregnant women died of Ebola. He concealed this information from authorities in the airport hence being allowed to take the flight from Brussels to Washington. He visited his family in Dallas days later.

The CDC, WHO and U.S. health authorities are doing the best they can to control the spread of the illness in Texas as well as other states. Strict isolation and observation of those who had encounters with the patient is being implemented. Further measures are being done to control the spread of the disease.
