Wearing a gray hoodie, actor Val Kilmer posted a picture of himself on Sunday, February 8. He was grinning and telling all his Twitter fans that he's finally out of the hospital as of Friday, February 6.

In his caption, he seemed could not contain his excitement, calling his discharge as "freedom."

The 55-year-old star, who starred in movies such as Top Gun and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, was rushed to the hospital after he called 911 during the last week of January. Although he wasn't clear what the emergency was, some news reports alleged that he experienced throat bleeding.

Various media have reported that Kilmer is suffering from a possible throat tumor, especially after he was spotted watching an NBA game with his neck wrapped in a scarf. Some have also quoted his representative as saying that he's been undergoing examinations to confirm the tumor.

Meanwhile, his family was angry at him for neglecting issues of his health due to his religion. Kilmer abides by the principles of Christian science, one of which pertains to treatment and medicine. Although they don't necessarily reject any form of treatment or cure, they believe that prayer is powerful when it's not hindered by medicine.

In his series of Facebook posts on Sunday, Kilmer first thanked his fans for their concern, love, and support. However, he was quick to dismiss the news that he had a tumor or had undergone any operation related to it. He instead said that there was a "complication" that required immediate assistance and a stay in the ICU of University of California-Los Angeles. He also mentioned that some of his friends who knew and understand his faith were there to make sure that "silly talks" were kept to a minimum.

He's currently waiting for the results of his X-ray and will be in close contact with his doctor and practitioner of Christian science once he already has an official diagnosis. He also encourages anyone who has questions about his condition to refer to his Facebook posts.
