The success of "Furious 7" almost instantly pushed out another upcoming box office hit in the making. "Fast 8 Furious 8" has now been the talk of the town, with cast members including Jason Statham jumping on the sequel bandwagon. Will his Deckard Shaw fight against another almost criminally insane villain, with Vin Diesel's Dominic Toretto on the same side this time?
A report by Den of Geek revealed that Jason Statham, who portrayed the brother of the big bad boss Owen Shaw in "Fast & Furious 6" could be returning for "Fast & Furious 8." "There's 'Fast & Furious 8,' they want to do another one", Statham confirmed in the interview. However, his involvement in "Fast & Furious 8" depends highly on Universal. He said, "to me, it depends what Universal are doing and when they want to go."
In "Furious 7," Jason Statham portrayed Deckard Shaw who took matters in his own hands to avenge his severely injured brother after his encounter with Dominic Toretto, Brian O'Conner and the entire team/family of misfits. It can be recalled that "Furious 7" ended establishing both Shaw brothers to be alive and well. Now, fans are wondering how this all falls together come "Fast & Furious 8" release date.
Whether both Owen (Luke Evans) and Deckard Shaw are able to come together to again plot against Toretto's team or will their needs align for "Fast & Furious 8" remains to be seen. It is to be noted that unlikely alliances is among the major themes of this franchise, beginning with the first ever "Fast and the Furious" (2001) where Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker) was initially out to get racing boss Dominic Toretto in hauled into prison.
Meanwhile, "Fast & Furious 8" star Vin Diesel has revealed the likely location for the upcoming sequel, and possibly even other cast members returning to the franchise. Latin Post revealed an Instagram post by the original "Furious 7" cast member where a likely logo and official title for "Fast & Furious 8" has been revealed. The photo also showed a city and a bridge, which showed that a new location come "Fast & Furious 8" release date would most likely be New York.
Confirmed "Fast & Furious 8" cast members save for Vin Diesel have yet to be announced, but it is highly probable that the entire original cast will return for the upcoming sequel. Time revealed "Fast & Furious 8" release date has been set on April 14, 2017.
