The upcoming "Crimson Peak" has fans writhing in excitement as director Guillermo del Toro revealed more details of the gothic romance film. Cast members Tom Hiddleston and Jessica Chastain talk about the perfect romantic film, although this doesn't seem to be the point of the movie.
"It's one of the primal duties of the storytelling to scare the audience," declared Guillermo del Toro in an interview with Time. Latest updates on the highly anticipated gothic romance film coming later this year has been revealed officially via the film's director, renowned horror filmmaker Guillermo del Toro and the stellar cast members Tom Hiddleston and Jessica Chastain.
It has been months since eager audiences have been talking about the gothic, kinky and romantic film "Crimson Peak" and while "sweetness" isn't a word attached to the film, it seems like this could very well be a description of the movie. According to lead cast member Jessica Chastain, the other side of "Crimson Peak" is not as dark as fans may have perceived it to be.
In a report by Yahoo, Chastain said, "It's romantic and scary, so it's the perfect date movie. Because you go with your love or your wannabe love, and then right when it's getting romantic, you kind of cuddle, and then when it's scary, you cuddle more."
"Crimson Peak" cast member Tom Hiddleston describes the movie simply as "the cuddle movie," according to the same report. The king of horror films however, sees the coming movie in a different, much darker light.
"The two elements that are always buried deep inside are sexuality and violence, and I made them a little more overt in the movie," revealed director Guillermo del Toro in the same interview. "Most of the nudity in the movie is Tom Hiddleston, but there is a sexual element, and there are very brutal, little moments of violence."
"Crimson Peak" release date is set this Oct. 16.
