“Outlander” season 2 will be hitting small screens soon and it will be featuring its lead stars, Jamie Fraser and Claire Randall, as parents. Apparently, the new parents will be having some troubles trying to become good parents in a “new world,” which is France, according to The International Business Times.

Sam Heughan, who plays the role of Jamie, told TV Guide in an interview that his character and Claire, played by Caitriona Balfe, will be meeting new characters as they attempt to live new lives in France. Still, despite their parenting struggles, Balfe revealed that they will find ways to figure out how to be successful parents in a place that is very foreign to them.

Plus, the politics within the French court is not helping them with their parenting problems. Heughan even added that the main characters of “Outlander” season 2 cast will have little to no time at all when it comes to straightening out their struggles as a couple.

Considering that both Jamie and Claire come from two very different time periods, it is only understandable that they may handle parenting differently. However, Balfe has pointed out that despite their differences, they actually have the same outlook in life – which, based on what she revealed, will be the same traits that they will want to instill into their child.

At the end of season 1 – paving the way for the plot of “Outlander” season 2 – the audience last saw the couple onboard a ship that was headed for France. They were heading towards the French country as part of their attempt to prevent the Battle of Culloden from happening.

Balfe also hinted that, as opposed to the first season being “very gritty and earthy,” “Outlander” season 2 will actually be more alive, in some sense. “It is going to be very exciting,” she said, adding that the upcoming season will be featuring a lot of “bright colors and silks and satins.”
