The team behind "Sillent Hills" has reunited as "Crimson Peak" director Guillermo del Toro and former-Konami Hideo Kojima continue talks on possibly developing another new game.
After the heartbreaking deal "Silent Hills" fans went through, it seemed gamers will never have that perfect combination between game and horror directors. Fear not, horror genre gamers! Latest news reveal that the master horror storyteller and director of the upcoming gothic romance film "Crimson Peak" Guillermo del Toro is back working with Hideo Kojima.
According to IGN, Guillermo del Toro revealed that while he and Hideo Kojima have worked together in the cancelled "Silent Hills" (of course with TV-god Norman Reedus), they have continued their partnership that now may lead to another exciting video game project.
"I love working with Kojima-san. We are still in touch. We are still friends and working into doing something together," del Toro admitted. "But that's not going to be ['Silent Hills']," he added.
In the same report, del Toro also revealed what could have been for the "Silent Hills" project with Hideo Kojima before it was officially cancelled. "We were in the planning stages, and it's a shame it's not going to happen," explained the director.
"We were talking about really pushing the boundaries of the new consoles, and making the game really mess with your head. One of the great moments in 'Metal Gear' [Solid] was Psycho Mantis. The idea that a game can actually interact with you, and stuff like that," added del Toro.
Hideo Kojima on the other hand remains on the last project connected to Konami, "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain." While the latest installment of the franchise has indeed been experiencing road bumps along the way, Kojima has already confirmed that he will finish the game before closing his door entirely to the Japanese developer.
