The longest running animated series gets another Hollywood A-lister in its roster of voice cast as Sofia Vergara joins "The Simpsons"---yay for Bart?
Latest news revealed "Modern Family" star Sofia Vergara has signed on for a cameo in "The Simpsons" as another significant character in young Bart's life. In a report by EW, everybody's favorite trouble maker will come across some questionable milk which catapults him into puberty. Apart from growing unwanted hair, he also gets a crush on his newest teacher Mrs. Berrera.
"The Modern Family" star has already recorded her short stint as the Springfield-gorgeous substitute teacher Mrs. Berrera and will be on for an episode of "The Simpsons." The shows exec Al Jean revealed in the report "She's more forgiving than Mrs. Krabappel was of Bart."
"She pays special attention to him," added Jean.
Sofia Vergara's character, however, will not only be Bart's object of affection but also the reason for conflict with his school Principal, Mr. Skinner. "We thought it'd be interesting if both Bart and Skinner have a crush on the same woman," added Jean in the same report. "She feels Skinner is a wounded soul that she wants to take care of. She is a vet like Skinner, and that's his attraction."
There has only been reported that Sofia Vergara joining "The Simpson" cast will be for only one episode; however, there could be more than one as DailyMail pointed out. The report revealed that both "Modern Family" and "The Simpson" is filmed and developed in the same studio and it wouldn't be such a difficult task for Sofia Vergara to do both shows because of this.
The distinct voice of Sofia Vergara has been heard in numerous other productions as in the 2011 "Happy Feet Two" film where she voiced the character Carmen and in the 2013 "Escape from Planet Earth" animation as Gabby Babblebrook. Appearing in next in "The Simpsons" will be another milestone in Sofia Vergara's growing career.
