Recent reports have claimed and confirmed that a "Half Life 3" release date announcement could be very slim.
In fact, sources are claiming that fans should stop waiting for the new title because Valve is not keen in developing it. But why are some fans still believing for the best?
"Valve have a reputation for devoting themselves to their fans," Movie Pilot noted.
"They have been by their sides for years - some fans refuse to believe they wouldn't release Half-Life 3. However, we have to remember that Valve have completely transformed since the days of Half-Life, Team Fortress and Counter Strike. They know make close to a billion dollars a year from Steam and micro-transactions from three of their Video Games."
"Half-Life 3 is something we all want, therefore it's only natural that we should deny the news that, The Know revealed... It must be so frustrating to believe that this game is coming soon," the site added.
Meanwhile, fans are still getting their hopes up for a confirmed release date announcement at the PAX 2015.
"The fact that Valve are attending PAX this year already has people speculating about the arrival of Half-Life 3," Movie Pilot continued. "I'd love to believe that the company will reveal it, however, it all seems extremely unlikely."
With rumors circulating that release date for "Half Life 3" could never be confirmed, speculations are suggesting the release of the third installment's story and plot to appease waiting fans.
"But if they offered to release the plot of Half-Life 3, along with the gameplay innovations that they had planned to develop for it, would you take the offer?" Movie Pilot asked.
"It's a poor substitute for actually being able to play Half-Life 3, but that option doesn't seem like a viable one for the foreseeable future. If you could be handed the conclusion to the Half-Life series, would you settle for it? Or perhaps even in the form of an animated film?"
"I'm purely interested to see if fans of the series are willing to obtain information about the ending of the trilogy in any form."
