After the tragic death of Paul Walker, "Fast and Furious 8" is scrambling to find another lead. Will Angelina Jolie take on the female heroine and join the cast?
Latest news revealed that the "Fast and Furious" franchise is thinking about adding a new female cast member for the "Fast and Furious 8." The newest female cast will have an important role in the upcoming movie, and it's along the lines of Paul Walker's Bryan O'Conner.
Among the list of new cast members possibly joining "Fast and Furious" include A-list Hollywood actors such as Helen Mirren, Ruby Rose and Angelina Jolie.
According to ET Online, "Fast and Furious 8" cast member Michelle Rodriguez revealed the possibilities for the newest member of the brood. "We've definitely got to bring up the ante, man," said Rodriguez.
"Whoever it is -- it has to be a powerful presence that hasn't been seen before," added Rodriguez.
Angelina Jolie was one of the names vetted as the addition to the "Fast and Furious 8" cast to which Michelle Rodriguez shared her excitement.
"The grand majority of the time in films, we're always fighting each other," Rodriguez explained. "I feel like it's time to evolve girls. Let's stop hitting each other and let's stop fighting each other, and let's start getting together and ganging up on people."
Meanwhile, former cast members of the franchise will be coming back to "Fast and Furious 8." Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has already confirmed his return, Jason Statham also confirmed to reprise his role in the movie. According Cinema Blend, Lucas Black will be joining the cast of "Fast and Furious 8" and that he also already signed a contract for "Fast and Furious 9." Eva Mendez is also rumored to return to the franchise.
Vin Diesel announced the "Fast and Furious 8" last Comic Con and will be set in New York City. The entire cast of "Fast and Furious 8" will arrive on April 2017.
