With "Kingdom Hearts 2.8" recently announced, fans have gone wild assuming that this brings the release date of "Kingdom Hearts 3" closer. Director Tetsuya Nomura talks not-so-good news.
Latest reports on the highly anticipated "Kingdom Hearts 3" have revealed that with "Kingdom Hearts 2.8" announced, the release date for the third installment has been rumored to draw near. Previous reports have revealed that indeed "Kingdom Hearts 2.8" and even "Kingdom Hearts 2.9" are indeed connected to "Kingdom Hearts 3" release date, but not as fans have been expecting.
AttackOfTheFanBoy revealed that while "Kingdom Hearts 3" release date is expected to come in 2017, no confirmation on the matter has been revealed yet. But the game's helmer, Tetsuya Nomura shared a few details on the possible timeframe for Sora's next adventure.
"Nomura admitted that it may take a long time until 'Kingdom Hearts 3' ever comes out," the report pointed out. "This is the reason why Square Enix is releasing 'Kingdom Hearts 2.8' in the meantime to tide fans over."
A report by Siliconera goes a bit more into the details of the release date of "Kingdom Hearts 3" and shared that "it looks like it's going to take a little longer until we can play 'Kingdom Hearts 3,' so he wanted fans to get a taste of Kingdom Hearts III's world sooner than later, and together with 'Kingdom Hearts 3''s prologue that is KH3D, and a title that uses some of 'Kingdom Hearts 3''s tech."
Meanwhile, although the release date of "Kingdom Hearts 3" has yet to be confirmed, there have already been speculations about the possible DLCs coming for Sora's next adventure. Moviepilot enumerated a few DLC worlds that include "Kim Possible," "Maleficent" and even "Phineas and Pherb."
"Kingdom Hearts 3" is the latest installment to Square Enix's "Kingdom Hearts" franchise that brings lead character Sora in adventures throughout various Disney worlds, with classic characters Donald Duck and Goofy as sidekicks, of course with King Mickey guiding their way.
