This is one of those stories that’ll warm your heart forever.
A New York woman who suffered severe burns as a baby after falling onto a steam vaporizer found the mystery nurse that cared for her when she was in the hospital, according to ABC News.
37-year-old Amanda Scarpinati launched a social media campaign earlier this month in order to find the nurse who’s seen cradling her in photographs she’s kept for 38 years, according to NY Daily News.
“Growing up as a child, disfigured by the burns, I was bullied and picked on, tormented," explained Scarpinati.
“I'd look at those pictures and talk to her, even though I didn't know who she was. I took comfort looking at this woman who seemed so sincere caring for me."
The reunion between the nurse in the photo, Sue Berger, who is now a nurse practitioner in Syracuse, New York, and Scarpinati was a wonderful, emotional one.
“Oh my God, you’re real! Thank you!” Scarpinati said while embracing Berger.

A local television reporter reportedly tracked down Berger and the two were able to set up a reunion at Albany Medical where they first met.
“It was amazing. She just has such a gentle, caring voice, just like I imagined she'd have,” stated Scarpinati.
“It's like Christmas. I am over the moon right now.”
Berger was “so stunned” when she heard that Scarpinati was looking for her.
“I was just speechless and to think that someone would have thought about it all those years and to have saved the photo, as I did myself,” stated Berger.
