"Attack on Titan" season 2 news suggest that its release date will be sometime next year.
The Internet has been filled with fan speculations about what the next season will be about.
There are rumors that suggest "Attack on Titan" season 2 will not even follow its source material - the story's manga version. If this is true, then the rumors about the death of a major character just might actually happen.
In addition to the Colossal and Armored Titans, another smart Titan is also going to make its debut into the story line when "Attack on Titan" season 2 premieres. This new Titan will look like a tall ape. Although it will be intelligent, just like the two aforementioned Titans, this one can actually talk, as Cross Map has pointed out.
Sadly, there have been no clues as to who this ape-like Titan could be. "Attack on Titan" season 2 release date news fans are well aware who the Armored and Colossal Titans are, which turn out to be two of Eren Yaeger's batch mates in the 104th Trainees Squad.
Captain Erwin Smith will also reportedly be leading the rebellion that will overthrown the King. After all, it has been revealed that the acting King behind the Wall was a fake, and the real royal family is actually the Reiss family - who, in turn, possess the ability to turn themselves into Titans at will.
Plus, Captain Levi's uncle, Kevin Ackerman, will also reportedly attempt to eat Eren. By doing this, he believes that he can get the much coveted Coordinate, which is the power of being able to control other Titans, according to Shingeki No Kyojin Wikia.
It remains to be known how Kevin's plan would turn out, considering that, according to rumors, only members of the Reiss family can control the Coordinate. If ever he does manage to put Eren in his mouth, it is highly likely that he is going to spit Eren out, since he is not a Reiss.
