With a rumored downgrade, all the hype for "Tom Clancy's The Division" Xbox One and PS4 release date has died a slow death.
To add insult to injury, waiting fans have also grown weary of waiting for its release date which was already delayed several times since the new Ubisoft game was announce three years ago. Now that it will be officially released on Mar. 8, 2016, public interest has gone out the window.
"The delay has cost 'Tom Clancy's The Division' and it has received a lot of negative feedback," Christian Post reported.
"The delay itself is a worry point for some gamers as it will be facing some superb titles like Ubisoft's own games like 'Assassin's Creed Syndicate,' 'Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege' and 'Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands.' Also, the much admired 'Destiny: Taken King' by Bungie has already arrived and stolen a march on everybody."
"The negative feedback for 'Tom Clancy's The Division' has been reserved for its gameplay, system and graphics that have really 'gone through a massive downgrade' as reported by Game Pur."
But despite all the rumors about a downgrade, first impressions of the new title sounded really hopeful. Could it turn out not as bad as the gaming community thinks?
Marty Sliva of IGN was one of the first to play the game, and here is his honest review:
"There are definitely still some question marks surrounding The Division," he said.
"I didn't really get a good grasp of just how deep the RPG systems go -- do I choose a character class? Can I respec my hero at any time? Also, the demo I played had little-to-no bespoke story content. But what it may have lacked in these two fields, it more than made up for in intense action, fantastic atmosphere, and some of the most engaging player interactions I've seen in a very long time."
He also added that the game gave a similar feel and "care" given to "Watch Dogs," and had relatively similar controls to "Splinter Cell Blacklist." Sliva also thought the shooting felt great.
"Tom Clancy's The Division" release date for Xbox One and PS4 has been reportedly slated for Mar. 8, 2016.
