"Narcos" season 2 release date is still up in the air. The show's fan base has been waiting for more news that could shed some light on when their favorite show will return to the small screen.

While fans are trying to guess when the "Narcos" season 2 release date will be, Bustle has pointed out that its plot is going to involve the cat and mouse search for the elusive Pablo Escobar. As revealed in the finale episode of the show's first season, Escobar managed to escape through the woods. Although he escaped, DEA agent Steve Murphy promised that he will, one day, stand over Escobar's dead body.

The time line of the story was in 1989 and ended sometime in 1991 or 1992, which was when Columbia's King of Cocaine was jailed at the La Catedral prison. These events were based on Escobar's real life events. That said, "Narcos" season 2 release date and spoilers suggest that there is still a story to tell.

Following Escobar's escape from prison, a massive manhunt was carried out by the DEA. The operations was spear headed by Javier Pena and Murphy, who are members of the special team called "Search Block" - which also includes members of the ISA, Delta Force, and US Navy Seals.

Eventually, the Search Block decided to work with the Cali Cartel, which happens to be Escobar's nemesis. Together, they just might be able to finish off Escobar in "Narcos" season 2 release date and spoilers once and for all.

Although there is a huge possibility of Escobar's death in the upcoming season, the DEA will still be active in Columbia. After all, in real life, after Escobar died, the Search Block still continued with its goal of dismantling the Columbian drug trade.

However, it must be noted that Escobar's demise in "Narcos" season 2 release date is expected to lead the series to its end, as reported by KPopStarz. That said, show runners might decided to prolong the plot in order to extend the series.
